About This Print

This print was likely published in 1982 by Unsōdō Publishing as part of their seven volume reissue of the artist's collection of prints titled Bairei Gakan, originally published as early as 1903For further details see the section titled Bairei Gakan under the artist listing.

I have recently seen the below edition of Bairei Gaikan advertised for sale on e-bay which contains the same fish design as my print, pictured above.  The size of the below volume of Bairei Gaikan is given as 26.5 x 20.9 cm. (10.4 x 8.2 in.) which allows each print to lie flat resulting in no center fold in the print as would be required by earlier editions issued with a size of approximately 22 x 13.5 cm.   The version shown below might well be the 1982 Unsōdō re-issue of Bairei Gaikan.

A volume of Barei Gaikan as shown in an e-bay listing  The overall size of this volume is given as approximately
10 1/2 x 8 1/4 in.
The identical fish image as my print from the volume pictured on the left.  Note the artist's red oblong seal appears in a different position than on my print.

From the 1913 Unsōdō re-issue of Bairei Gaikan.
Note center fold in print.
