About This Print
A collector of old foreign language books, Kawakami loved depicting the objects he found in them. This untitled and undated print uses a number of the artist's favorite objects - lamps, jars, a clock, and geisha. In addition to numerous prints depicting these objects, Kawakami devoted an entire book to the lamp (ranpu ランプ) as can be seen in the below images.
